New Trustee Posts
We are currently looking for up to two new trustees to increase the range of experience and expertise amongst our board. The specifics of each role will be tailored to the skills, interests and experience of the individual.
Our charity would benefit from a person with some legal background and experience but if you have other talents, such as the ability to spread the word about us and our work online or locally, that would be great too. A person with local church connections would also be useful to raise our profile in that area but this is not vital.
The current board consists of our chair - who is also the treasurer - a retired deputy headteacher, a retired GP and a finance director in the care sector. They are supportive and active people with a passion for the work of the charity. The board works as a team to oversee the running of the charity and to guide its future direction.
Our trustees are expected to attend 6 board meetings a year. Meetings are held every two months and are arranged to suit availability, although we are currently holding short monthly online meetings instead due to covid-19.
Each year we have an Away Day at a local venue where staff and trustees meet to discuss plans and ideas for the future of the charity. Otherwise trustees can complete any work required by their roles at times to suit themselves.
The ideal trustee for KeySteps will share our passion for alleviating poverty and helping broken people to restart their lives.
A sense of humour, a positive outlook and the ability to be adaptable are helpful qualities.
